This coming weekend (August 2nd), Personium will participate remotely at COSCUP (Conference for Open Source Coders, Users & Promoters) 2020 hosted in Taiwan. We will give an overview of Personium and how we can help citizens adopting to the Post-COVID9 era.
On July 29th, Personium was honoured to receive the MyData Operator 2020 Award. The award was given to 16 world-leading organisations from 12 countries, all working for humans-centric approaches to personal data.
The MyData Operator 2020 Award was created by the internationally recognised nonprofit MyData Global. The award acknowledges organisations that place the individual at the centre of personal data about them, provide tools to help them manage personal data, and have the individual as the primary beneficiary of this data.

I'm honoured to give a forty (40) minutes presentation on Personium overview and why PDS (personal data store) needs DID (decentralized identifier). Around thirty (30) audiences from fourteen (14) organizations had attended and we had some fruitful discussions.
Important takeaway is how to empower the citizen using DID and PDS to produce added value services.
We have released a demo app called "Personium Trails" that allow user to import location history data on Google into Personium and share selected data to others.
For better human-centric data-based response to the crisis!

Personium is going to share our ideas on how PDS (personal data store) can help to cope with post COVID19 or any other pandemic situation. We will also contribute to the thematic group technically in the long run.
Today, we are celebrating Personium’s involvement in MyData Global’s recently published paper, Understanding MyData Operators. It is a foundational step on a roadmap towards a human centric personal data infrastructure that involved 34 experts and was supported by 48 personal data operators in 15 countries. The MyData vision published in 2015, describes operators as actors in personal data ecosystems that provide infrastructure for human-centric personal data management and governance. Personium is one such organisation and prides itself on its contribution to the creation of sustainable ecosystems where the use of data is transparent and controlled by individuals. As providers of infrastructure for personal data management, we recognise our responsibility in creating sustainable ecosystems for fair and ethical use of personal data.
“We are really proud that MyData Global has facilitated this landmark paper. Operator organisations worldwide have joined on a common journey towards interoperable infrastructure for using personal data across digital services. These operators commit to working in a way that not only puts the rights of the individual in the centre, but also sets them on a collective path to build ecosystems that work for people. The MyData operator philosophy is very much *ligned with the recently published EU data strategy, which emphasises the rights of individuals in these developing infrastructures.” - Teemu Ropponen, general manager of MyData Global

Fevermap is a Finnish open-source app that allows user to report temperature through the internet. In order to cross-pollinate ideas, Personium registered two UI/UX issues and helped translating the app to Japanese.
You can help out by contribute your data, your soft skills or even help debugging. Check details here.
